Guidance
Your Mentor.
The Sleeper Hit List is a group of like-minded writers and creatives who know intimately, the life of the writer — the highs and the lows, and who know how important mentorship can be. Sleeper Hit List was started by writer/director Titus Heckel. Titus is a multi-award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter. He's also a physics nerd and in another life, a trained priest (now of the non-practicing; non-believing variety :-) !
ACT ONE - the online course (at your own pace)
You can't break the rules until you know them. This resource covers the core elements of screenwriting, from structure and character to dialogue and theme, while also addressing the realities of the writing life: discipline, routine, and long-term creative commitment.
ACT TWO - the workshop
This stage focuses on developing ideas into strong story concepts. Writers begin by exploring possibilities, then narrow their focus to shape a compelling premise and build a clear three-act structure.
ACT THREE - the mentorship
This stage focuses on writing the full screenplay. With mentorship throughout the drafting process, writers develop the script scene by scene and act by act, shaping the work into a complete feature-length draft.
Continuing Support
Completed scripts can be supported for next steps such as submissions or further development. Writers are encouraged to continue refining their work and then pursuing opportunities independently.

Reviews
Recommended by many students
At Sleeper Hit List, we're proud of the successes of our students. Here's what some of them have to say
Rachel
“Titus combines a high-level approach to feature structure with a boots-on-the-ground work ethic. With his diligence, imagination, honesty and wonderful sense of humour, he'll get you through the challenge of shaping your idea and pouring it onto the page.”
Sarah
“What I loved about Titus's classes, whatever we were talking about Titus made it so fun and interesting and he made it so engaging. And he took something as complicated as how to write a good story and he broke it down into simple and easy steps. I came out of his class a much stronger writer than I was before.”
Peter
“I've learned so much from him and improved immensely as a screenwriter, which I attribute a lot to his honesty. A lot of people told me what I wanted to hear which didn't do me any favors, but Titus told me what I needed to hear. I'm glad that I listened because my script has turned into something that people really enjoy and I could not have done without his help.”
